GoDaddy / DomainNames.com

Should You List With DomainNames.com?

After they launched in October 2025, we listed a handful of names on GoDaddy’s Ultra-Premium Name site, DomainNames.com. Since then, Domainers with UPNs have contacted us asking if they should submit their names.
Here is our analysis:
PROS
1) GoDaddy’s reach is incredible. No one comes close. We’ve never received so many inquiries for our names.
2) No other registrar has a site solely dedicated to Ultra-Premium Names. It also has independent promotion, including a newsletter that targets buyers worldwide.
3) Tom McCarthy, one of the hottest brokers in the business, is now Lead Broker for DomainNames.com.
CONS
1) GoDaddy GoValue appraisal system.
Absolute deal killer for Ultra-Premium Names.
Unless they appraise your name as Too High To Estimate, GoDaddy GoValue will appraise your six and seven-figure names for less than 25K because their current system doesn’t allow for a numerical appraisal higher than 25K for any name.
For example, Toddler.com is for sale on DomainNames.com for $1,500,000.
GoDaddy GoValue appraisal? $21,242.
Saving.com
DomainNames.com: $1,500,000
GoDaddy GoValue: $24,768
Wanted.com
DomainNames.com: $1,200,000
GoDaddy GoValue: $23,679
Wednesday.com
DomainNames.com: $950,000
GoDaddy GoValue: $23,826
The GoValue appraisals are so low, and GoDaddy is so trusted, that most buyers won’t bother to make an offer when they learn the sales price.
The good news is that GoDaddy informed me they’re revamping their system, and we’ll soon see realistic six-and seven-figure appraisals for these names. Considering their ability to single-handedly influence the Public’s perception of domain name values, this will have a massive impact on the aftermarket. And if you don’t think this will also positively affect four and five-figure names, think again.
2) Two-year exclusive contract. That’s a long time, but DomainNames.com is a work in progress powered by the #1 company in the world, and its potential to capture the market is already obvious.
VERDICT
If GoDaddy GoValue currently appraises your Ultra-Premium Name as Too High To Estimate, I recommend you consider submitting it to DomainNames.com.
However, if they currently appraise your Ultra-Premium Name for less than 25K, I advise you to wait until their new appraisal system is launched.
